Say Goodbye to Tapatalk’s Link Redirects with Xposed

There are a few ways to browse the XDA forums. The most convenient is using a web browser on your PC, but that’s a luxury that not everybody can afford. A lack of time or constant travels force many to use mobile forum browsers like Tapatalk or Forum Runner. Even the XDA Forum Application is based on Tapatalk, which is not perfect, but nothing better has been created so far.

Tapatalk uses external servers to parse links. Because of this, many types of special links will not work properly. For example, Play Store links can’t be opened with the Play Store app. And that’s just one example, as most of app-specific links must be first “filtered” by web browser. This only consumes the time and wastes precious data.

Now, you can make Tapatalk can act like it should, thanks to XDA Forum Moderator GermainZ, who created an Xposed module to remove all the redirects. CrappaLinks is an open source project, so contributions are more than welcome. And if you know how to improve it, don’t hesitate to make a pull request. To use this module, your device must be rooted and you should have the latest version of Xposed Framework installed.

If you are a Tapatalk user and want to get rid of redirects, you should go directly to the module thread and grab the newest APK.
